A National Weather Service meteorologist said heavy rainfall last week was unusual but the flooding along the Meramec is "kind of a normal-ish flood" for the spring.
The National Weather Service predicts three to six inches of rain from Friday through the end of Saturday.
"We could be planning funerals today. Today, we're just planning to rebuild," said the father of one homeowner hit by storm. "It will all be ok. ... We're all upright. We're all above dirt."Â

Thunderstorms are forecast to hit the Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵ metro region by 7 p.m. They may carry golf-ball-sized hail and tornadoes as strong as EF2.
The City of Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵ has an ordinance requiring sidewalk snow removal, but that hasn't prevented sidewalks from being hazardous or impassable for a big chunk of 2025.
