PERRYVILLE, Mo. — A worker died this week when he became stuck in an industrial oven at a cereal plant here, according to authorities.
Officers were called to the to the Gilster Mary Lee Cereal Plant, in the 600 block of Old St. Marys Road, at about 3 p.m. Thursday,
They found a man who had become stuck in an industrial oven that was shut down, Perryville police said.
He had already died by the time emergency workers could get to him, police said.
The Perry County Coroner identified him as Nicolas Lopez Gomez, a 38-year-old Guatemalan national who was working under the alias of Edward Avila, police said.

“OSHA has been contacted concerning this accident and will be conducting its investigation," Coroner Meghan Ellis said in a statement. "Our offices will work with them to determine how this occurred.”
Additional information was not immediately available.
Gilster Mary Lee, headquartered in nearby Chester, Illinois, has 11 locations across the Midwest, according to its website.
It manufactures hundreds of foods, including cereal, cake mixes, dinner kits and baking products.
