BELLEVILLE — Police on Thursday were investigating the shooting of a 4-year-old boy which caused a non-life-threatening wound.
A news release from Belleville police said the child's father was taken into custody for questioning as part of the investigation.
The incident took place at a home in the first block of North 42nd Street, police said. Police said multiple pieces of evidence were found at the home but did not elaborate.
Police said officers "responded to Memorial Hospital" regarding the boy about 7:30 a.m. Thursday but didn't release his condition.
