Injury report
Jordan Walker, OF (left wrist inflammation): The young outfielder began a rehab assignment Thursday with Class AAA Memphis, going 0-for-2 with a walk and a strikeout in a game that was suspended in the fourth. The rehab isn't expected to be a lengthy one for the 23-year-old. The Cardinals will look to see how he bounces back into game action and how his left wrist responds to taking game-level swings. Brendan Donovan, INF/OF (left toe inflammation): Donovan was removed in the ninth inning of Tuesday's game after his toe began to get sore during the game and got progressively worse. Donovan said the discomfort was in a joint in his big toe on his left foot. The injury is one he said was not caused by a singular moment. Rather, it was something he said, “accumulated over time.” Donovan was absent from the Cardinals' starting lineup on Wednesday, but he said he doesn't think an IL trip will be needed. Updated June 11
Zach Thompson, LHP (shoulder, lat strain): Lefty has returned to Jupiter, Florida, and his throwing program there after going through a battery of tests and exams in ӣƵ. Strengthening is the goal before advancing. Updated June 7
